Comprehensive CueSport Curriculum
Our structured program covers essential fundamentals through advanced techniques, providing participants with a complete understanding of cue sports from basic mechanics to sophisticated positioning strategies.
Fundamentals
Stance
Proper body positioning, weight distribution, and balance for consistent shot execution. Learn stable foundation techniques that provide control and accuracy.
Stroke
Smooth, controlled cue action with proper pendulum motion. Develop straight-line delivery and consistent follow-through for reliable ball striking.
Bridges & Grip
Various bridge hand formations (open, closed, rail) and proper cue grip techniques. Essential for stability and precise cue ball control.
Shot Preparation
Pre-shot routine, visualization, and mental preparation. Build consistency through systematic approach to every shot.
Cue Ball Control & Speed
Cue Ball Speed
Mastering stroke power from soft touch shots to power breaks. Learn to control cue ball velocity for precise positioning and successful shot execution.
Aiming Systems & Techniques
Aim Point vs. Contact Point
Understanding the difference between where you aim and where contact occurs. Critical concept for accurate shot making.
Ghost Ball Method
Visualization technique using imaginary ball position to determine correct contact point for successful pocketing.
Cut Shots & Throw Shots
Angled shots requiring precise aim and understanding of ball deflection. Includes throw effect caused by friction between balls.
Center Ball Aim
Fundamental aiming technique for straight-in shots and basic positioning. Foundation for all aiming systems.
Spinning the Cue Ball
Advanced ball control through English (spin). Master various spin techniques to manipulate cue ball path and position for subsequent shots.
Top Spin (Follow)
Strike above center to make cue ball continue forward after contact. Essential for follow-through position play and natural roll shots.
Bottom Spin (Draw)
Strike below center to make cue ball reverse after contact. Critical for bringing cue ball back toward shooting position.
Side Spin (English)
Left or right spin affecting cue ball angle off rails. Advanced technique for rail position play and kick shots.
Various Draw Shots
Multiple draw variations including stop shot, drag, and power draw. Precise control for complex position requirements.
Position Play & Strategic Thinking
The art of leaving the cue ball in ideal position for the next shot. Advanced players think multiple shots ahead, planning entire rack sequences.
Tangent Lines
Natural cue ball path at 90-degree angle from contact line. Understanding tangent lines is fundamental to position play planning.
Vertical Axis (Cue Ball off Object Ball)
How top/bottom spin affects cue ball trajectory after object ball contact. Essential for controlling distance traveled.
Horizontal Axis (Cue Ball off Rail)
Side spin effects on cue ball angle when contacting cushions. Critical for multi-rail position routes.
One Rail & Multi-Rail Position
Using cushions to navigate cue ball to desired position. From simple one-rail routes to complex three-rail patterns.
Strength of Stroke - Power Position
Controlling shot power to achieve precise cue ball placement. Soft touch versus firm stroke applications.
Advanced Shot Making
Shape with Object Ball on the Rail
Special considerations when object ball is frozen to cushion. Techniques for controlling cue ball when limited clearance exists.
Shape with Object Ball Near Rail
Position play strategies when object ball is close to cushion. Adjusting for reduced follow-through space.
Looking Ahead - Rail First Shots
Kick shots and bank shots where cue ball or object ball contacts rail first. Planning future rack progression.
Cue Ball Safeties
Defensive play leaving opponent with difficult shots. Strategic thinking beyond offensive position play.
Progressive Mastery: Our curriculum builds from fundamental mechanics to advanced strategic concepts, ensuring participants develop comprehensive cue sports expertise through structured, hands-on instruction.
